Bioeconomy,

a sustainable and circular economic model

The bioeconomy is a circular and sustainable economic model based on the use of renewable and local biological resources to produce goods and services in all economic sectors.

The challenge

Bioeconomy projects require collaboration between many actors in the territory to become viable and become a reality, and this requires a new form of governance. This project should allow us to learn what are the systematic barriers that hinder projects and how to overcome them.

Promote the renewal of primary sector industries

This economic model must be able to promote the renewal of industries and the modernization of primary production systems, ensuring the conservation of biodiversity, territorial balance and the protection of the socio-ecological values of the environment.

An opportunity for all sectors that use or produce biological resources

The bioeconomy includes all primary production sectors that use and produce biological resources, and all economic and industrial sectors that use biological resources and processes to produce food, animal feed, products of biological origin, energy and services.
