The aim is simple and direct: support innovation, strengthen European companies, and make better use of biological resources to reduce our dependence on fossil materials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At Bioboost, this direction fully aligns with our work helping bioeconomy projects grow and attract investment in Catalonia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A Renewed EU Bioeconomy Strategy<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Strategy adopted by the European Commission focuses on four main priorities that will shape Europe\u2019s bioeconomy in the coming years:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>1. Boosting innovation and investment: <\/strong>Europe wants new bio-based technologies and solutions to reach the market more quickly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2. Developing new markets for bio-based materials and technologies: <\/strong>The goal is to increase the use of renewable, bio-based alternatives across different industries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>3. Securing sustainable biomass supply: <\/strong>Ensuring that Europe has enough responsibly sourced biomass\u2014across agriculture, forestry, food systems and industrial by-products\u2014to support these new markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>4. Strengthening Europe\u2019s role internationally:<\/strong> Promoting cooperation and helping European companies compete in global bioeconomy markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Strategy also highlights the role of the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/knowledge4policy.ec.europa.eu\/bioeconomy_en\">Knowledge Centre for Bioeconomy<\/a><\/strong>, which provides improved data, modelling tools, and monitoring systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Updated Overview of National Bioeconomy Strategies in Europe<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A recent <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/publications.jrc.ec.europa.eu\/repository\/handle\/JRC143845\">Science for Policy Brief<\/a><\/strong> shares the latest developments from 43 countries included in the Bioeconomy Country Dashboard. The main findings confirm that Europe is moving in a common direction:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; 12 countries already have a dedicated national bioeconomy strategy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; 10 more countries are currently preparing one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Other countries include bioeconomy measures within broader circular economy, agricultural, industrial, or innovation policies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What This Means for Catalonia and for Bioboost<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Catalonia already made a strong commitment through the Bioeconomy Strategy of Catalonia 2030, and the new EU framework reinforces this direction.
