Final webinar of the project: De-risking bioeconomy projects – lessons learnt from Bioboost

After four years supporting bioeconomy initiatives across Catalonia, Bioboost is organising its final webinar to reflect on one of the key questions that has guided the project from the beginning: how can we make bioeconomy projects more viable, investable and scalable?

The webinar, titled “De-risking Bioeconomy Projects: Lessons Learnt and Strategies to Reduce Bioeconomy Projects Execution Risks”, will bring together public institutions, project promoters, investors and organisations working in the field of circular bioeconomy and territorial innovation.

Throughout the session, the Bioboost consortium will share the main lessons learnt during the project, based on the support provided to multiple bioeconomy initiatives through Project Development Assistance (PDA) services. The discussion will focus on the real barriers these projects face when moving from concept to implementation and investment, including regulatory complexity, governance challenges, financing constraints and project maturity.

The webinar will also explore how accelerators and support ecosystems can help reduce risks, structure projects and build confidence among investors and public administrations.

A key part of the session will be the round table discussion, bringing together representatives from BioHubCat, CircularInvest, the European Circular Bioeconomy Fund (ECBF) and BioInsouth, who will share different perspectives on financing, scaling and supporting bioeconomy projects across Europe.

The event will close with reflections from the European Research Executive Agency (REA) on the role of initiatives such as Bioboost in accelerating Europe’s bioeconomy transition.
