The Bioboost project, with a total duration of four years, has reached the halfway point of its trajectory, successfully completing its first two years of activity. Meanwhile, the Accelerator, initiated a year ago, celebrates its first anniversary, marking a year of intensive support for bioeconomy projects.
The main mission of the Accelerator is to boost bioeconomy projects through Project Development Assistance (PDA). This initiative offers a comprehensive range of services tailored to the specific needs of each project, including technical support, circular economy mapping, legal advice, and guidance in defining business models.
One of the key elements that define the Accelerator is its ability to turn ideas into tangible results. During its first year of activity, it has facilitated significant progress in various areas, such as the development of detailed development plans, overcoming administrative barriers, and creating innovative business models.
In this first year, the Accelerator has received 9 applications from potential Bioboosters (bioeconomy projects to which it offers services) through the questionnaire and has supported 5 of them.
Collaboration is a fundamental pillar of the Accelerator, fostered through regular meetings with an External Advisory Committee and general assemblies. This continuous dialogue not only improves services but also effectively responds to the emerging needs of projects, strengthening the relationship with beneficiaries and ensuring the sustainability of the results.
Looking to the future, the Accelerator plans to further consolidate its existing services and expand its impact. With a methodology based on acquired experience and identified best practices, it aims to help bioeconomy projects reach a sufficient level of maturity to attract investment. This will enable projects to be implemented more quickly than would be possible without Bioboost’s services.
The Accelerator exemplifies how strategic collaboration and specialized advice can catalyze innovation and promote sustainable growth. Its commitment to driving systemic bioeconomy projects not only benefits Catalonia but also aims to contribute to global well-being.
